the "procedure"

There have been no blog posts for awhile- mostly because Michael and I have been in Europe. We did a J Term class in London and then traveled to France and Spain. It was a lot of fun, but by the end we were really ready to come home. We missed Mylie and Watson SOO much.

The puppies stayed at our house and Ericka watched them while we were gone, and Amber and Marissa (the neighbors) came and let the puppies out many extra times during the day so they had plenty of attention and exercise.

We got home on a Wednesday, and we spend the weekend with the puppies and then on Monday we took Watson in for his "procedure". He was neutered. We were so sad for him, but it is definitely for the best.

He was a champ. He came home a little groggy from the surgery, but was ready to play within an hour.
In fact, about an hour after he came home he managed to eat one of Mike's socks. We didn’t know about it at the time, but we found out the next morning when he threw it up on the bed. We were horrified, but then we realized he had thrown up an entire sock we were relieved. Dogs eating socks can be fatal and/or require very expensive surgery. We don't even know how he got it, because we were watching him all night. He's sneaky. We're going to have to be more careful with our socks from now on.

Watson has to wear the “cone of shame” for 2 full weeks. Fortunately, he thinks his cone is the coolest thing ever. Michael and I got really excited with him and gave him tons of treats the first time we put it on him. Michael first put it on himself, then put it one Mylie, and then put it on Watson. Now Watson is so proud to wear it.
Today is Watson's 6 month birthday. Happy 1/2 Birthday Watson! We're sorry we took away your manhood. I promise, it's for the best.
